Dear reader,
I’d like to ask you to recommend a book for me to read; a comic book, please. I try to read one text book and one comic book at all times, and I’m all out of the latter. Hook me up!
Let me tell you a little bit about my taste in comics…
- Predictably, Alan Moore is my favorite writer in comics. (Pre-2000s Alan Moore, that is.)
- I’m a bit tired of twee indie fare.
- I love Chris Ware, but the misanthropy can be a bit much for me.
- I grew up reading European comics so I don’t have a huge appetite for superheroes.
- Single-book recommendations are preferred. I have too many so-so volume 1s on my shelves as it is.
- Here’s the list of books I read in 2010.
I’m picky, and quite irrationally so. On the other hand, I work across the street from one of America’s greatest bookstores so I may be reading your recommended book within minutes.
